Peer Review Policy

Formazione, lavoro, persona is committed to maintaining high standards of academic quality, scholarly integrity, and ethical publishing. All manuscripts submitted to the journal are subject to a rigorous peer review process designed to ensure the originality, relevance, methodological soundness, and scholarly contribution of the work.

Upon submission, each manuscript is first evaluated by the editorial office to determine whether it falls within the aims and scope of the journal and meets the basic requirements for academic quality, structure, and presentation. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be returned to the authors for technical revision or may be declined without external review.

Manuscripts that successfully pass the initial editorial screening are forwarded for double-blind peer review, in which the identities of both the authors and the reviewers are concealed throughout the review process. This approach is intended to promote fairness, objectivity, and impartial evaluation based solely on the scholarly merit of the submission.

Reviewers are selected on the basis of their expertise in the relevant subject area and are asked to evaluate the manuscript according to several criteria, including:

  • Relevance to the scope and objectives of the journal;

  • Originality and significance of the research topic;

  • Adequacy of the theoretical or conceptual framework;

  • Appropriateness and rigor of the research methodology;

  • Quality and clarity of data analysis and interpretation;

  • Coherence of the discussion and conclusions;

  • Use of relevant and current scholarly literature;

  • Overall contribution to research and professional practice in the fields of education, work, and lifelong learning.

Based on the reviewers’ reports, the editorial decision may be one of the following:

  • Accept without revisions

  • Accept with minor revisions

  • Revise and resubmit for further review

  • Reject

When revisions are requested, authors are expected to submit a revised version of the manuscript together with a detailed response explaining how the reviewers’ and editors’ comments have been addressed. Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers for further evaluation when necessary.

The editorial team makes the final decision regarding publication after considering the reviewers’ recommendations, the quality of the revised manuscript, and the journal’s editorial standards. The Editor-in-Chief retains the authority to make the final determination on all submitted manuscripts.

Reviewers are expected to treat all manuscripts as confidential documents, to conduct reviews in an objective and constructive manner, and to declare any potential conflicts of interest that could influence their assessment. Authors are likewise expected to participate in the review process professionally and to respond to reviewer comments respectfully and thoroughly.

The journal is committed to ensuring that the peer review process is conducted in a timely, transparent, and ethically responsible manner. Through this process, Formazione, lavoro, persona seeks to promote the publication of high-quality, innovative, and impactful scholarship that advances knowledge in the interconnected fields of education, training, work, and professional development.
